Applies one or more specific commits from anywhere onto the current branch, without merging or rebasing the whole line they came from.
Grab an individual fix or feature commit — a hotfix on another branch, a commit from a fork — without pulling in everything else that branch has.
-n, --no-commit — stage the change but don't commit (useful to combine several picks into one commit, or inspect first)
Cherry-picking a merge commit requires -m <parent-number> — Git refuses without it. And a cherry-picked commit always gets a brand-new hash, so picking a commit onto a branch that later merges back with its origin can make it appear twice in `git log --all` (usually harmless, just look twice before panicking).
